Tune into abundance and joy
“Abundance blooms when we share our burdens, say yes to what we love, and give ourselves the grace.”
There has been a lot of talk recently about overload but not a lot about abundance, lightness and joy. Let’s start getting into the end of year spirit with four ways turn up the energy
- Find someone who loves to do what you dislike!
Identify the tasks that are draining you and making the day feel heavy and reach out to others to find that person who loves to do what you dislike. Turn what is deadly, boring or anxiety-making for you into a delight for the next person. For example, my middle daughter loves washing pots and pans but hates to cook, and my eldest will never be caught with her hands in the sink but delights in creative cookery! A perfect match.
2. Up your happiness score by swopping ‘can’t and shouldn’t’ for ‘can and would love to’!
Identify where your inner grinch is holding you captive and start saying yes to things you love! How about that after work drink, the weekend swimming invitation or that Monday art class. Do it and delight in it! You deserve it.
3. Practice loving yourself
Turn up the love for what you see in the mirror by going for that overdue haircut, fixing your makeup, trimming your beard/nails or wearing your favourite outfit. If you still struggle with self-love trying to get a friend to write you a message and pin it to your mirror to remind you that others see your beauty even when you don’t!
4. Allow recovery time
Even if you believe that ‘When times are tough, the tough get going’ it’s a good strategy to allow yourself a moment to feel sorry for yourself when knocked down, so that you can recover stronger with a smile on your face. Build your positive mind set by joining a coaching group, helping others worse off than yourself and starting each day by reading an inspiring message.
