Do You Have An Accountability Partner
“An accountability partner helps to turn ideas into action and results”
Fetola recently signed up as a participant in a global accelerator. We did this for three reasons: firstly, because it is important to stay open to learning and growth, secondly as implementors of four of our own national SME accelerators we can get to experience what it is like to be on the receiving end of this service, and lastly because of the value it brings as an accountability partner.
Continually seeking ways to improve – as a leader, as a company and in our products and services helps to ensure that we stay top of our game. Learning also brings fresh thinking and innovation which is inspiring to the team and creates the growth and change that our fast-moving sector demands.
Having the chance to sit in the shoes of one’s customers is hugely valuable. There is no better way to understand how your clients feel when they interact with you and this knowledge is critical to good relationships and long-term business growth.
Perhaps most importantly though, without an accountability partner it’s easy for good intentions to drift past without the necessary actions being put in place. An accountability partner – whether it is a mentor, a peer group, or an end-of-year exam – provides the framework and a strong motivation to get things done!
So, this is a reminder to all of us: have an accountability partner for those important changes you are wanting to make – be it a health goal, a personal development goal or changes in your business.
