Leaders are learners – unleash your potential!
Face to face with 300 curious entrepreneurs last week at a webinar about the Tholoana accelerator I was reminded just how exciting it is to learn. Every time I teach – I learn, every day I live – I learn. It’s what makes life exciting!
When I look around me it’s clear that those with inquiring minds, who are curious about the world and who seek to learn and master new skills stand out head and shoulders from the crowd. They are the innovators, the change-makers and the ones making a difference.
The saying Leaders are Readers is a powerful reminder that this willingness to learn (and unlearn) is what sets us apart from the rest. There are few things that block our progress more than the attitude of ‘I know it all’ because even when you are a subject ‘expert’ there is always more to learn. Personally, learning excites and inspires me so much that it’s quite usual for me to have a pile of books next to my bed, another couple on the go on my Kindle and something fresh and inspiring on audible for those car journeys.
So, if leaders are readers and learners are leaders perhaps the question is, how can we inspire those around us to learn something new today?
