Shake up your Monday!
“The simple act of tidying up your study can reset your clock to positive.”
Let’s get one thing straight, it’s impossible to be positive all the time.
I remember a story about the great Norman Vincent Peale, author of the best-selling book The Power of Positive Thinking in which he announced on stage that he was in fact the world’s most negative person. His wife, who was sitting in the audience, nodded her head vigorously and said: “Yes, he is the most miserable person I know.” He went on to say that he wrote the book to help himself overcome negativity, not because he was a relentlessly positive person.
We all have moments of despondency when things that should inspire us just feel boring, the tasks on our list don’t get a second look, and even getting out of bed is too much effort.
It is especially easy to feel down in this “post-COVID that isn’t post-COVID” period when there is anxiety about an uncertain future, and the airwaves seem filled with negativity.
So, if you are feeling despondent and wish to turn to positive, allow yourself some me-time: find something to do that brings you pleasure – preferably something creative like writing or painting, or physical activity like walking, running, making your bed, or even tidying the office. Choose activities with movement, which reset and re-energise the psyche and feed the soul.
Wishing you a great week as you prepare for some remarkable days ahead!
Kind regards
Catherine
