Here’s the message I share with every leader: The magic of YOU is what sets you apart. 

If you want to shine in the world, bring your whole self to the party. 
Bring your magic. Your knitting. Your hiking boots. Your love for art. 
Your obsession with board games and that random passion for ancient history? Bring that too. 

When you let your light shine at full strength, the world gets to see and celebrate the full spectrum of your talents and personality. 

This was beautifully illustrated by one of our Fetola alumni, Bontle Tshole from Baaa Health, who recently shared a story about how surprised she was to see a U.S. senator displaying personal mementoes in his office. Proof again: your story matters. And only last week, I interviewed a finance intern candidate who allowed the full magic of her personality to shine through in her passion for making a difference. She got the job.

As an entrepreneur or small business leader, this matters even more. When you blend your unique interests into your business identity, you go from being just another cake maker/car mechanic/trainer to becoming the “fully legal baker,” “heavy metal mechanic,” or “knitting minds trainer.” 

There is only one you in this world.
