Build the life you want
“Build a life that is filled with feelings of happiness and gratitude.“
There is a wonderful saying… “what you focus on will manifest”. It reminds me that where we spend our energy and place our thoughts sets the direction for our lives. In an increasingly lonely world, don’t just focus on your career or what possessions you want to own. Remember to include love, care and connection!
So, if you want to build a life that is filled with feelings of happiness and gratitude, and get you the life that you want, these 5 actions are a good start:
First – decide what you want! If you, like me, find this seemingly simple task a bit difficult to do, then write down the feelings you want to cultivate, not the things you want to own or do. Happiness is a feeling, not a destination!
Positivity – decide each morning that the day ahead will be great. Choose to be a 10/10 believer! Stay far away from the negativity on radio/TV/social media, and fill that space with uplifting books, interesting work or ‘giving back’ to others.
Love – start the day with a self-love mantra, “I am loved and lovable” is a good one. Then watch how your own self-love bubbles over into love for the world around you.
Make a Difference – leave an impact on others . Do more of the feel-good things, which will give you the energy to manage the parts in your day that aren’t so inspiring.
Look forward, not back – learn from the past but cut yourself loose from its chains. Be present and focus on the gifts that this moment in this day offers. Redirect your energy into building a future that inspires you.
