“Unleash the best version of you.“
Today I acknowledge the American singer, philanthropist and education champion Dolly Parton, who died aged 80, leaving a monumental legacy that will sustain for generations to come.
One of 12 children raised in a two-room shack, Dolly understood that being born into poverty represented a lack of opportunity for today, not a lack of ambition, intelligence or resilience. And certainly not a roadblock to a lifetime of success.
When she died on 25th August 2026, she left dozens of award-winning albums, hit songs, iconic movies and a legacy of kindness, care and concern for others. She donated millions to causes close to her heart, especially those from the underserved mountain community where she was born.
So today I’m asking myself, “How can I be more like Dolly?” Kind, generous, courageous, outrageous and confident. What abiding legacy will keep me active and committed til the day I die?
If not Dolly Parton, who are the stars that you admire and would like to emulate?
