“Some success is derived from dressing to impress.”
I attended a fantastic women’s day event in Cape Town this week, to celebrate the generational diversity of female leadership. One of the speakers Bongiwe Ntuli Managing Executive of Clicks spoke animatedly and with great passion about her journey from starting school at 3, through matric at 15, fully qualified CA at 20, a scholarship overseas and rapid rise to success as a business leader.
What a wow of an inspiring story it was!
But what stuck with me was her comment on the importance of dressing to impress. She relayed stories of how the best shoes, handbags and outfits have got her first-class upgrades, connected her with influential people and generally catapulted her heady success even higher.
As I sat there in my own version of “smart casual” looking from her pink velvet high heels with jewel adornments to my trendy, but comfortable FOM sneakers I did wonder what my life would be like if I dressed like her?!
So, this week it’s a fun one and I’m asking you a question – are you who you dress to be, or do you dress to impress?
Have a great week out there and do share a picture of your dress to impress shoes!
