Lead like you mean it

Lead by example and encourage others to follow suit.

Last week was filled with a series of inspirational events that reminded me of the magic we hold as leaders. As I connected with entrepreneurs, young students and corporate heads, I was reminded that there are times when even the most upbeat leaders need inspiration, so here is my pick-me-up message for you this Monday!

LEAD to inspire

L: Live. Inspirational leadership is a long game. To stay on track, take time to really live! Decide to make the most of every day. Allow yourself to bring joy into your daily routine. Hold onto those tasks that energise you and use them to uplift and inspire you! Insert art, music, sport and whatever you love, into your week.

E: Empathy. Let’s add more empathy to the world. A-type leaders, especially, are notorious for listening to their inner critic and pushing themselves hard to achieve wins. Empathy for yourself allows us to acknowledge our current state and the challenges we are facing with greater softness. When we practice empathy for ourselves, we can open our hearts to others. When we connect in this way, our people feel seen, heard and inspired to bring their full talents to the world.

A: Activity. The stronger and fitter our bodies are, the more energy we have for our lives. Lead by example and encourage others to follow suit. Prioritise regular exercise and stick to a healthy diet. Run, walk, gym, yoga, swim, cycle, hike, the choices are endless. Get advice on a healthy eating pattern, and stick to it. You’ll be astounded by how a healthy, active body unlocks a powerhouse of good within you.

D: Delegate. Delegation is a great tool to inspire others to rise to their full potential. When you believe in others, they start to believe in themselves. Delegating your tasks also gives you the time to invest in what really makes a difference to you – now THAT is inspiring!

That’s it for the week. I’d love to hear what tips you have for keeping yourself and others inspired.

Wishing you a lovely week!
