Time To Go For Gold

“Olympic gold is the child born of deep commitment and continual dreaming.”

Time To Go For Gold

I’m really tired of COVID and the challenge to push through the frustrations, knowing that it’s not over yet.

Then I read some of the stories from the Olympics – people who have battled physical and mental wellness challenges and stuck to their dream, not for a year or 18 months but for five and 10 years. Even our world record holder Tatjana Schoenmaker who won gold at the age of 24 has been training every day at 4am for 10 years!

And Rio gold medalist Wayde van Niekerk is competing today, hoping for a comeback after a knee injury in 2017. That’s five years of struggle and hard work!

It’s a good to be reminded when watching those beautiful smiles on the podium, that great success takes great effort. To be an Olympian in life requires continual dreaming and belief in success, together with a commitment to do whatever is needed to get there.

Wishing you the chance to polish your own dream of success, and the reward of a gold medal at the end of it all.
